Ozark Wellness pairs experience with passion for SEMO facilities

Ozark Wellness, Poplar Bluff-based facility license applicants, brings a team with over 50 years in combined cannabis cultivation experience – and currently operates local agriculture operations in soy, corn, and rice.

“Missouri is my home, and I was born and raised here, but I have lived and have family in western, medical cannabis states,” Ozark Wellness said. “I have made close friends within the cannabis community and I have been very active within the cannabis community since the early 00s.

Ozark Wellness’ top goals are providing safe, high-quality medical cannabis at affordable pricing, hoping their variety of strains will maximize the number of patients – regardless of income – they can assist.

“Missouri patients are my number one priority,” they said. “At the end of the day we exist for Missouri: to help Missouri patients and to employ Missouri workers.”

Ozark Wellness has over 150 strains in its genetic library. They will continue isolating “the perfect genetics” that work best for patients. Offering effective medicine is a mission that hits close to home for the team.

“A close family member of mine wasted away from opioid abuse, and I believe they could have survived 15 more years, if not more if medical cannabis were readily available within the state of Missouri,” they said. “I have also lost friends to overuse of benzodiazepines where cannabis could have helped them if readily available.”

Experienced and passionate, they have dedicated his life to cannabis.

“So this is first and foremost a passion project. I believe in cannabis, and I know we can save many lives and bring relief to Missouri patients,” they said. “Just like some believe in becoming a surgeon and dedicating their lives to a certain part of medicine, I have decided to dedicate my life to cannabis. I believe in it and know first hand what it can do and the lives we can save by providing medical cannabis.”

The dispensary, cultivator, and infused product manufacturer facilities are all set to be located in Butler County, located in southeast Missouri. Johnson is hoping for a smooth rollout post-licensing for the state and high program participation.

If approved for licenses, Ozark Wellness will try to distribute to a majority of the facilities locally and in the southeast region of the state, reaching up to the St. Louis area.
