Hotels.com targets cannabis consumers with 4/20 promotion
In another sign of the widespread and rapid corporate acceptance of marijuana, Hotels.com is promoting to a whole new crowd. in honor of 4/20 Hotels.com is offering to pay for the snacks of twenty lucky travelers who book a stay on 4/20.
‘You’ve got the munchies? We’ve got the money … we call it munchie money!’ the company proclaims in a press release.
From the release, “With more and more travelers looking for fun ways to celebrate, Hotels.com wants to make this 4/20 extra special. That’s why this month Hotels.com is helping travelers who have booked a stay on April 20, 2021, to vibe out in style. Yes, you read that right — you can go crazy on an all-out, munchies-fueled hotel room service order and we’ll foot the entire bill.”
While the release reads like a promotion, it is actually a contest. Twenty patrons who have booked a stay on 4/20 will win a $200 VISA gift card, a reward night in their Hotels.com account, VIP gold status for a full year, and late checkout to help them sleep off that food coma.
To win, users need only share their hotel reservation confirmation to [email protected] between today and 4:20 a.m. ET on April 20, 2021.
But there is an added bonus for those who may have already booked a stay with another provider, “To be blunt, we know the cravings will come no matter where you booked, that’s why Hotels.com is accepting booking confirmations from any property or online travel service!” reads the release.
“The perks included as part of this Munchie Money deal are truly the culmination of all the best aspects of being a Hotels.com rewards member,” said Jennifer Dohm, Head of PR and Communications, North America. “From late checkout to a bonus night stay, only Hotels.com allows you to get rewarded just for reserving a stay. Getting your massive room service spread covered doesn’t hurt either!”
While the release is heavy-handed with bad marijuana and weed puns, it says a lot that corporate America is targeting cannabis consumers and patients with special promotions and marketing.
Just make sure your room isn’t smoke-free.
